Search in Latin, Cyrillic, or Korean script

Type town names the way your team or your customers write them. RingFence matches about 147,000 Cyrillic and Korean names in addition to Latin-script names: Москва finds Moscow, Новосибирск finds Novosibirsk, 서울 finds Seoul, and 부산 finds Busan.

Accents and spelling variants are handled too. Zürich, Zurich, and Zuerich all find the same town, as do Köln, Koln, and Koeln, and São Paulo and Sao Paulo. Results always show each town's name in its local spelling, and the app adds a plain-letter copy of accented names for databases that strip special characters.

Towns where postal codes run out

Many tools go silent when a country has no postal data. RingFence keeps going: a radius in Greece, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Vietnam, or Israel still returns every town inside it. Countries without postal data are marked "towns only" in the country picker, so you always know what you're looking at.

How locations are measured

Each postal code and town is a point at its published center. RingFence includes a result when that point is inside your circle, measured by great-circle distance. That's the standard way radius lists are built for ads, mail, and territories, and it's consistent across every country.

Frequently asked questions

Can I search for towns in Russian or Korean?

Yes. Town names can be typed in Cyrillic or Korean as well as Latin script: Москва finds Moscow, 서울 finds Seoul, and Йошкар-Ола finds Yoshkar-Ola. Accents are optional too, so Zurich, Zürich, and Zuerich all find the same town.

Which countries does RingFence cover?

Postal codes for 121 countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, India, Brazil, and 26 of the 27 EU member states, plus towns and cities (population 500+) for 250 countries and territories.

Does RingFence include towns without a postal code?

Yes. Every populated place with 500 or more residents in the dataset is eligible, and towns are returned even in countries without postal data, such as Greece, Nigeria, and Vietnam.

How detailed are UK and Canadian postal codes?

The UK is covered at postcode district level (for example SW1A) and Canada at forward sortation area level (for example M5V). Most other countries, including the US, are covered at full postal code level.

Where does the data come from?
